I'm going to share some personal information but I don't mind sharing to help other Woman going through the same thing. My husband made the worst mistake of his life 9 years ago(that's what he calls it). He had an affair and as soon as I found out about it he has done everything in his power to make our marriage right. If some of you woman are going through this right now than I want to tell you that it can get better and your marriage can become stronger. If your partner is willing to do the hard work and truly commit to it like my husband has, than you CAN get to a place where I'm at right now. This book, infidelity workbooks, counseling, communication and hard work can keep you in a loving, healthy and happy marriage. I know because Im living proof.... 22 years of marriage and still going strong!
Gary and Mona are fantastic. Their willingness to be open and raw about their own process and the hurt and pain on all sides helped us process it ourselves. Their advice on being completely open (subject to the wise advice/limitations in the book of asking sincerely “do you really want to know†of the spouse before answering a detailed/sensitive question) is fantastic and has led to more openness than ever before in our marriage. God gets all the glory for speaking to my spouse but this book is a big help and I’m very thankful for their writing.

There is nothing in the world that will excuse me for what I have done, and nothing that will ever help me forget the pain and suffering I have caused my wife. I found this book while searching for answers on how to go about fixing my marriage, and it has been an INCREDIBLE resource.It took me reading this to understand how important complete honesty is in order to recover our marriage. It is not an easy thing to sit in front of the woman you love and married as she asks you questions, and admit openly and without reservation that you betrayed her in affairs with other women. I can easily say it has been the most difficult task of my entire adult life, bar none. This book shows you how that honesty, while impossibly painful for you and your spouse to discuss, is the first building block of trust that you will come too."Unfaithful" goes further to discuss the different processes of recovery, and how they coped through it all. They are unapologetically open and direct, always encouraging, and give hope in every paragraph that you read. Most importantly, they have helped me to focus on God in my life, and how to lean on him for the support to overcome impossible odds.We are not out of the woods yet, and still have plenty of hard work ahead of us. However, we are committed to God, ourselves, and each other. I can not recommend this book highly enough to anyone going through this awful mess, and I will pray for anyone who finds themselves in circumstances that land them in the midst of the pages.Gary & Mona, thank you for this. This book was so heartfelt! I found this book for free on Amazon and got it even though my husband and I have not committed adultery. However, my husband does have a pornography problem and God had strongly directed me to read this book so I could know there is hope for my marriage! I am so glad I obeyed God because I found that the author's journey truly touched my own and made me realize the importance of having my husband a number two priority (God is number one ultimately)! The book spoke volumes to me on my own personal life and the hedges I want to have around my marriage as well as my own accountability I need to have!
I liked this book. When I first started reading this book, I wasn't too sure about it. After I started reading it, I put it away for awhile. I am not a religious person and there was quite a bit of talk about God. A few weeks later, i decided to pick up the book and continue reading it. I thought I would give it a chance. I am glad I did because it turned out to be a very good book. I recommend it.
I chose this book because I need help & I don't have anyone I can talk to comfortably about my situation. I thought it was very good because I identified with the author's situation and experiences.
This book was so helpful for me. I appreciate the raw honesty and each sharing their perspective. The questions throughout also helped me examine my own feelings. I’m so glad they answered the calling to be ‘ that couple’ that shares their story and helps others in their healing. I started reading with anger and no hope, ready to cut the cord. Now I’m more hopeful and willing to work it out.
Very good book. The authors are able to relate their personal, painful experience in such a way that is easily understood. There are several discussion-type questions at the end of each chapter.
