Excellent detail. For example 140 pages are devoted to Umbria. Of the restaurants listed, we only tried one, Puccini, and the description was accurate.One suggestion is to highlight the fact that in many towns, the restaurants, lodging and sights are within the old city wall and cars need to be parked outside the walls
This is a sound guide that provides good information, and I recommend it to all travelers. But it is a little flat and unimaginative compared to others on the Rough Guide list. Not too many surprises.
The Rough Guide to Tuscany and Umbria was very helpful when traveling around the area. I like the descriptions and found them to be useful.

Loved this guide! It was so incredibly helpful planning a long weekend in Umbria. Awesome maps and great list of things to do. I did buy the Kindle version. Even though the maps were great, they were still just a tad small and hard to read. I had to zoom in a bit. But getting maps once I arrived in the towns was the easy part. Great guide!
